Using MoreTrees

Setting up MoreTrees

  1. Click Settings > User settings in the main menu.
  2. Add or amend relevant information including your name, company name, profile image, telephone number and password. 
  3. Click Save changes.

Email support@moretrees.eco to request an email address change. 

  1. Click Settings > Email template in the main menu.
  2. Amend the custom name and message sent to people you’re planting on  behalf of.
  3. Click Save.
  1. Click Settings > Widget in the main menu.
  2. Copy the HTML code and add it to your website.
  1. Click Settings > User settings in the main menu.
  2. Under Forest URL add the custom URL ending you want (e.g. [my company].
  3. Click Save changes

Topping up credits

  1. Click Credits > Buy credits in the main menu.
  2. Select how many eco-credits you want to purchase, or enter a custom amount by clicking the amount box and entering a figure.
  3. Click Proceed to payment.
  4. Select either:

Pay by card – enter your card details (long number, MMDD, CVC, postcode)

Pay by bank transfer – use the details to make a bank transfer, then click Bank transfer made. We’ll let you know when once we’ve received it and topped up your account – usually within a couple of hours.

  1. Click Credits > Auto top-up in the main menu.
  2. Enter the minimum threshold and top up amount (i.e. when my credits fall below 5 top up by 50) and click Save.
  3. Enter your card details and click Save card.
  4. Switch the current status (at the top) to live.

Planting trees for yourself or business

  1. Click Plant trees > Plant trees, in the main menu.
  2. If you want to pick the tree and project, click on the orange highlighted text (Most needed tree or Any project), and select:

    Project: choose one of our current projects (updated depending on our current tree planting partners and the tree planting season).

    Tree: choose the tree type – ranging from 1 credit (£1) upwards.

  3. Under No. of trees, select or enter the number of trees you’re planting. 
  4. Under Who are you planting for, ensure Myself or company is selected
  5.  Double check the tree type, project and amount of CO2 you’re offsetting.
  6. Click Plant
  7. If you have enough eco-credits in your account, that’s it. If you don’t have enough eco-credits, you’ll be taken to the payment page. 
  8. Feel good about helping the planet.

2. Select your subscription or enter a custom amount

3. Toggle between monthly or annual

4. Click Next

5. Choose whether you’re planting for yourself or others (e.g. employees) and enter their details

6. Click Save details > Next

Planting trees for others

  1. Click Settings > Email template.
  2. Edit the sender name and message (note that certain characters can’t currently be used in the message).
  3. Click Save.

Click Plant trees > Plant trees, in the main menu.

  1. If you want to pick the tree and project, click on the orange highlighted text (Most needed tree or Any project), and select:

    Project: choose one of our current projects (updated depending on our current tree planting partners and the tree planting season).

    Tree: choose the tree type – ranging from 1 credit (£1) upwards.

  2. Under No. of trees, select or enter the number of trees you’re planting. 
  3. Under Who are you planting for, click Other and enter the amount of people.
  4. Enter each person’s name, email and quantity of trees. 
  5.  Double check the tree type, project and amount of CO2 you’re offsetting.
  6. Click Plant
  7. If you have enough eco-credits in your account, that’s it. If you don’t have enough eco-credits, you’ll be taken to the payment page. 
  8. Anyone you plant a tree on behalf of is automatically sent a copy of your custom email, along with a link to their tree certificate.  
  9. Feel good about helping others help the planet.

 

  1. Click Plant trees > Bulk upload, in the main menu.
  2. Download the tree list to view the tree types, projects and costs (from £1) – and copy the relevant tree identifier.
  3. Download a sample file and enter:

    Tree identifier (from the tree list)

    Name

    Email

    Tree quantity

  4. Save the spreadsheet and upload it to the platform, by dragging and dropping or clicking to browse your files.
  5. That’s it! Your trees are planted and everyone on the spreadsheet will receive a copy of your custom email, along with a link to their tree certificate.  
  6. Feel good about helping others help the planet.
Note that you can’t add your own email address in a bulk upload or any formulas. This will prevent the spreadsheet from being accepted by the system.

4. Click Next

5. Select Others under who are you planting for and enter their details

6. Click Save details > Next

Planting trees automatically

Via API

  1. Follow the API documentation.

Via Zapier

For a detailed walk-through on Zapier, click here

  1. Create a Zapier account (if you don’t have one already) and connect the platform you want to integrate (e.g. Shopify, Salesforce, Xero, Gmail, Slack, etc.)
  2. On MoreTrees, copy the Public Validation key (Integration > API).
  3. Connect MoreTrees as an app on Zapier, using the Public Validation key.
  4. Create a zap.
  5. Choose the trigger (e.g. new customer, new invoice, new order, etc.)
  6. Set action plant tree for others.

2. Select your subscription or enter a custom amount

3. Toggle between monthly or annual

4. Click Next

5. Choose whether you’re planting for yourself or others (and enter their details)

6. Click Save details > Next

7. Enter your payment information and click Subscribe

Troubleshooting

We hope you don’t run into any troubles on the platform but if you do, the following might help:

Bulk upload failing

  • Check you haven’t added your own email address (the one on the platform)
  • Check there are no additional spaces after the email addresses
  • Check you haven’t added any formulas or additional fields to the spreadsheet

Certificate naming

  • The system will address the certificate to the name first associated with the email address (i.e. if you need a unique email address for each different name)

Trees not planting for others

  • Check you haven’t added your own email address
  • Check you’re using a unique email address per name entered
  • Check there are no rogue spaces in/before/after the email address
